Oliver Usher’s Auction Rooms
The wonderfully named Regal Lager Brewery Ltd. (in Kelis, county Meath) was started here by James Fitzsimons and it produced the first lager in Ireland called Regal. in 1937 – it was sold in 1954.
Regal is "lager" spelt backwards. Now rebranded as Harp Lager. Inside the building one can still see pipework running across the ceiling.
Now Oliver Usher’s Auction Rooms, auctions of high class furniture, antiques, horse equipment, books and curios are held monthly and are well worth a visit – the calendar is to be found here.
